I'm Gen and I am an ultimate frisbee enthusiast, a dog lover, a wannabe pro surfer AND an authorised marriage celebrant based in Melbourne.

Why did I become a marriage celebrant?
I became a marriage celebrant because in 2021 I promised one of my childhood bestfriends that I would officiate her wedding. I then committed to completing my celebrancy course over the following 12 months, whilst working full time. In October 2022, I officially delivered my promise when I was able to marry two of my close friends on what can only be described as one of the best days of my life. I found out very quickly that I loved every part of being a marriage celebrant and I decided to start my own business 'Married by Genevieve', which has now blossomed into the most fulfilling side hustle I could have ever asked for.

What can you expect if I am your celebrant?
As your marriage celebrant, I’m all about making your big day truly you—full of joy, love, and a whole lot of heart. No two love stories are the same, and that’s what makes my job so special. I’ll take the time to get to know your story—every laugh, tear, and milestone—and together, we’ll create a ceremony that feels just right. Whether you want it to be fun and lighthearted, deeply emotional, or a mix of both, I’m here to make it happen. Let’s plan something unforgettable that celebrates your love in the most authentic and beautiful way possible. I can't wait to be part of your journey!

What do I get up when I am not marrying couples?
During the week, I am studying my Masters of Secondary Teaching, while also working part time as a Clinical Audiologist. Your gal is in her multiple careers era.
When I am not at work/Uni, you can find me surfing, throwing the frisbee on the beach, convincing my friends to join me on rather difficult overnight hikes, cuddling my nephews or patting any dog in my line of sight. Don't get me wrong, as much as I love the outdoors, I equally love getting comfy on the couch and binge watching any sort of crime thriller TV series with a block of choccy.
